Traditional Chinese Martial Arts

A ‘quicky’ including good videos of Xingiquan, Karate x Wing Chun and MMA (I am sliding this last one in quietly and hoping you won’t notice that it is not Traditional Chinese Martial Arts!)

Xingyiquan

The first of two videos today from Kevin Lee.

This XingYi Master is CRAZY FAST!

Different to the Xing Yi, we do, but yet still the same.

And yes, he is fast!

Today we will be exploring XingYi with Dimitri Nogay! He has been training XingYi for over 20 years and competed multiple times in the ring.

Although he looks young and fit I am secretly pleased he is breathing hard after doing his demos 😈

Wing Chun compared to Karate

Wing Chun Genius: "Karate Is WRONG”

Ignore the title, the Wing Chun practitioner does not say that.

Instead look at the similarities between the traditional Karate kata and the Wing Chun moves.

Wing Chun expert Kevin Lee explains kata Naihanchi / Tekki Shodan from Karate. These practical applications (bunkai) will blow your mind! Is Okinawan Karate actually Wing Chun?

Features Jesse Enkamp ‘the Karate nerd’ and Kevin Lee, FFMAA Techical Director.

Mixed Martial Arts

⚠️ This is no-holds-barred cage fighting. Skip it if it is not your thing. Also - heads up for lots of commentary along the lines of this ‘British beauty’ etc. etc., and some gratuitous underwear shots (wonder if she might be sponsored by Calvin Klein!?).

No Joke, She Knocks 'em Out Harder Than Men - Dakota Ditcheva

Why have I included this?

She’s a very good fighter.

And yes, I know, this is not ‘Traditional Chinese Martial Arts’, but go 🇬🇧!

A Brit coming to the Octagon via Muay Thai.

Dakota Lili-Joa Ditcheva (Bulgarian: Дакота Дичева; born 25 July 1998) is an English mixed martial artist and former Muay Thai fighter currently competing in the women's Flyweight division of the Professional Fighters League (PFL).
